There are over 65,000 Backyard Wildlife Habitats in the United States today. The ever-increasing development of housing and business means less refuge for the natural wildlife of Indiana, and this is where you and your backyard can help!
With some simple changes, you can convert your backyard from a normal backyard with just grass, to a wildlife habitat with butterfiles, birds, frogs, fish and more! You and your family will have fun creating your wildlife habitat together, and then you'll spend countless years marveling and learning about the wide variety of wildlife that visits your very own backyard.
By certifying your Backyard Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation, you contribute valuable information about plant and animal species in your community. You also create a special place where you have made a difference.
