SUMMARY:Healthy Waters Coalition Session - Ohio River Restoration
DESCRIPTION:National Wildlife Federation is working with partners to form a coalition to restore and protect the waters of the Ohio River region by securing a regional restoration plan and the federal funding from the U.S. Congress to implement it. The region is vast – containing portions of Alabama\, Georgia\, Kentucky\, Illinois\, Indiana\, Maryland\, Mississippi\, New York\, North Carolina\, Ohio\, Pennsylvania\, Tennessee\, Virginia and West Virginia\, as well as the federally recognized Tribal Nations of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the Seneca Nation of Indians. \nIt is going to take all of us working together to secure the investments needed to address long-standing and emerging threats such as toxic pollution\, sewage contamination\, runoff\, mine waste\, habitat loss\, invasive species and flooding. \nBy establishing a regional coalition and working together\, we can show our collective strength and elevate the needs of the 30 million people within the region and attract the attention this region deserves to protect our drinking water\, public health\, jobs\, and quality of life. \nOn the call\, we will discuss the objectives of the coalition\, the benefits to member organizations\, and examples of other coalitions that have helped to advance largescale ecosystem restoration efforts across the country. We will hold space to discuss the goals and opportunities for engagement with the coalition and answer any questions you may have! \nRegister Here!
