St. Mary-of-the-Woods College

Sustainability and the preservation of natural spaces have always been a priority for St Mary-of-the-Woods College. This ideal was affirmed when the campus joined the Certified Sustainable Campus program in 2019 after previously joining our Certified Sustainable Trails program. They are the first campus to have taken on both certifications!
As part of our partnership, IWF brought the Duke Energy Foundation to the table to help support an outdoor classroom being constructed at the site of the Sustainable Trail around Lake Le Fer. This classroom will serve not only as an education space for students but also as a gathering space for events around the restored lake The Duke Energy Foundation committed $15,000 to the project at its launch.
