Brownsburg Parks | Maple Ridge Trail
This moderately-trafficked crushed-limestone trail has some elevation changes and features a charming creek. The Maple Ridge Trail in Williams Park has a number of unique locations including an outdoor classroom that was built from reclaimed ash trees that were felled by the invasive emerald ash borer.
Thanks to the generous support of the Duke Energy Foundation and its volunteers, IWF was able to create a pollinator garden near this outdoor classroom. The garden is made up of a dozen native grasses and flowering plants, all of which will bring new life to a location formerly dominated by turfgrass. In the coming years, this garden will provide a food source for pollinators and, most importantly, host plants like milkweed for important native species.
